Casa Rosada is a modern, fully equipped holiday home sitting in a commanding position overlooking the sea and countryside above the village of Arco da Calheta on the southwest coast of Madeira. It is large enough to cater for up to six people yet provides a couple with the privacy, comfort and space rarely found in an apartment. The house features three double bedrooms, one of them ensuite, plus a family shower room. The large kitchen has everything you need for self-catering. The comfortably furnished open-plan living/dining area has cable TV, DVD and CD/cassette players and doors lead out on to a large sunny terrace with loungers, tables, chairs and built-in barbeque. There is off-road parking for up to two cars.

The views of sea, cliffs, fields and mountain from Casa Rosada are often enough to keep you sitting out on the terrace all day, but the house is also ideally situated for more active pursuits. A seasonal levada runs past the property and walks, from easy to challenging, begin from the front door; a centre for paragliding and mountain biking activities is also within walking distance. The nearest café/restaurant serving typical regional food is just a short walk away.

Casa Rosada is well away from the bustle of Funchal, though thanks to the new road system everywhere is now within easy reach. Moreover, some of the island?s top attractions are only a short drive away: within ten minutes you can be on Madeiras only golden sandy beach at Calheta, which also has a large marina; or 15 minutes will bring you to the laurel, levada and waterfall wonderland of Rabaçal and the wide open expanses of the Paul da Serra. Arco da Calheta is served by buses (15 minutes steep walk to bus-stops), but car hire is highly recommended to enjoy all the area has to offer.
