Skiing at the Vradal Ski Centre.

Cross country skiing has long been a tradition in Norway. In Vrådal we prepare 40 to 60 km of ski slopes in mountainous terrain, in the valley, over fields, in the forest and on safe ice. Most of the winter you may start skiing from your own chalet. Season: Christmas through to Easter. Ski rental and ski instructions are available at the Vrådal Skisenter. The Vrådal Skisenter is onsite. It is one of the biggest ski centres in Southern Norway... famous for the first 8-seater chairlift in the world. In addition Vrådal Skisenter runs four other lifts and prepares fifteen pistes. The longest piste is 3 600 m and has a vertical drop of 473 m. One of the biggest snow production system in Norway makes it possible to open the skicenter in the middle of December and keep it in good condition until the middle of April. Snowboarding at Vrådal Skisenter ... The slopes are designed for all levels of expertise -both beginners and advanced alpine/Telemark skiers and snow boarders. Good possibilities for off-piste skiing. The chairlift has so great a capacity that there is a guarantee that the wait is no longer than 5 minutes! The Vrådal Skisenter offers ski rental and ski tuition. Two cafeterias serve food, beverage and lounges for relaxing.
Children under 6 years can use the lifts free of charge. Open: 10 AM to 04 PM all days in the winter.Snowshoeing... the latest craze! Snowshoeing is exciting for all lovers of the out doors...Different types of snowshoes have been used in the Nordic countries for at least for 6.000 years. In the last years new technology and modern light weight materials have led to a development of snowshoes well suited for easy walking on slopes and off-piste in deep snow. Walking with snowshoes is easy to learn and the terrain in Vrådal is ideal for making long or short trips on slopes in the forest or above the tree line. The snow creates a romantic atmosphere - a white winter wonderland far from noise and stress.
Telemark Region... and more on the chalets...

Telemark is one of Norway's foremost vacation areas. This is due to a number of factors; the area's natural scenic beauty, the nice climate, its rich culture, commerce and communications, - all play important roles. The diversity of the landscape adds excitement to the area. Seaswept rocky shores merge with open farmlands, vast forests and narrow valleys. Steep mountains plunge into bottomless lakes or widen into endless mountain moors rolling omward to the horizon. Telemark - a real skiing adventure
Telemark's magnificient and ever-changing scenery is made for ski sports and enjoyment for the whole family. Telemark has everything to offer, from children's adventure trails and gentle slalom slopes to sheer drops where the challenges are many. Thousands of kilometres of well-prepared trails and modern alpine slopes. And it was it in Telemark the modern way of skiing originated, from a poor peasant named Sondre Norheim who grow up in the valley of Morgedal. Welcome to Telemark - "the cradle of skiing".
