The Project called El Portón de Benalcázar was recently completed. It is a home that was built initially 300 years ago in the simple style of the time. It was enlarged thoughout the years with both Republican and Classical styles. This house was beautifully renovated preserving the charm of old with the comfort of today. This is continuously shown as the best example of renovation in the Colonial City. It is located in the corner of Benalcázar and Manabí St. making it a superb location due to it's easy access to the Occidental highway to leave or enter Colonial Quito; taking taxis is easy as they are everywhere; or ordering one by phone.. We felt in love with the possibilities of enjoying the dinamics, architecture and charm of the city, the quietness and light of the old home and the location, so close to what makes Quito what it is: churches, museums, restaurants, cafes, bars and shops, all within walking distance. We have private parking, thus, the client may rent a car if so wishes. The parking lot is at the same level as the apartment. |

Word?s Heritage site by UNESCO for being what it is, the best preserved Colonial City in this part of the world and an example of new and old world fusion. It?s world famous churches with a Baroque/Quitenian style is evident in this unique and spectacular religious buildings. In addition, most of the homes built during from that era are still standing, with Colonial, Republican, Neoclassical styles giving Colonial Quito quite an especial feeling. There are several museums, shops, theatres and walks that amaze the visitor that enjoys not only it visually but also experiences how vibrant the city is. The northern part of Quito is a different city altogether, much more modern with upscale shopping malls, parks and contemporary architecture; somehow, the visitor feels as if within minutes the countries had changed!
