Living in Trastevere |
| |
Busy at nights, lazy in the morning, Trastevere is a favorite destination for anybody who wants to enjoy life the roman way, 365 days a year. The apartment lies right at the beginning of the pedestrian area, and is walking distance from just about anything one may want to see in Rome. Great food almost at every corner, bars, pubs and restaurants for every pocket and taste; museums, churches, theatres and anything you can think of is in Trastevere, maybe because it has been the traditional stopping point for pilgrims just before the arrival in the Vatican. |
Hot to get around |
| |
Walk to the intersection of Lungotevere with viale Trastevere, where you will find bus and tram stops that will take you anywhere in the city. A Taxi station is also located in the same piazza. Walking is probably the best choice of all, it allows for better appreciation of the beauty one discovers at every corner. |
My best picks |
| |
Eating: Augusto, p.za de renzi, Trastevere. Good traditional roman food, only cash, long line, well worth the wait. Make sure you try their Brasato. Not for vegetarians.
Drinks: Around p.za Trilussa there are many bars and pubs, with new ones opening every month. Campo de Fiori, right across the river, is a favorite gathering point for all romans living the night. |
