A character two bedroom cottage, completely detached, set in its own grounds and surrounded on three sides by forest.It is at the end of a country lane, very secluded with no through access. There are wild boar, rabbits and foxes in quantity in all the local forests and dozens of varieties of birds including hawks. Hundreds of swallows, house martins and swifts are buzzing around in the summer months. Set in the quiet hamlet of Couroussaine, in central Brittany, just two miles from the small village of Guilliers, with all amenities, three bars, a renowned restaurant, small shops, butchers, bakers, fuel and Ploermel Lac Au Duc Golf Course is only 10 minutes away.Ten miles from Ploermel, our main shopping town with all types of shops and supermarkets. Twelve miles from the picturesque medieval town of Josselin, with its 16th century chateau, on the banks of the river Oust on the Nante Brest canal. In this market town (Saturday mornings) the visitor will find a good range of shops which cater for all normal requirements and tourist information office.

The Cottage:
The cottage sleeps up to 5 persons and is fully equipped to a high standard with ample parking space.
The lounge has a fully tiled floor with rugs, settee, armchairs and ample cupboard space. There is a TV (French channels) with video player, radio, record and cassette player. . There is an open wood- burning fire for winter stays and cool summer evenings. (Logs are extra.) (Heating supplement 10% of rental.) A good quality convertible sofabed is available in the lounge if extra accommodation is needed.
The kitchen has a fully tiled floor, fully fitted with gas cooker, fridge, freezer, microwave, toaster, coffee machine and all kitchen utensils and fitted units with
breakfast bar.

A utility room with washing machine, tumble dryer, freezer, iron and ironing board, brooms, dustpan etc etc. .
Shower room with W.C and washbasin (no bath).

The veranda
Veranda and Garden:
The veranda is covered and attached to the front of the cottage and is equipped with garden furniture for enjoying the sun or alfresco dining. A barbecue is built outside in the garden with table and chairs. There is an extensive garden to the rear with outdoor seating and picnic areas. There is a patio area also to the rear of the cottage equipped with table and chairs and a swimming/splash pool (please bring your own towels).
The owners cultivate a large cottage garden, and freshs vegetables and salads are available (in season) to guests at the cottage.
Maid Cleaning Service is available by arrangement and at an extra charge.
Fishing rods, fax machine & e-mail / internet service all available upon request.

The Area :
There are nearby connections by both sea and air with the nearest airports being Dinard, Rennes and Brest. The port of St. Malo is only about one hours drive, enabling easy access from the Channel Islands, one and a half hours from Roscoff, two to three hours from Caen , Le Havre and Cherbourg. We recommend that visitors have the use of a car to explore the area and travel to and from their arrival point. However, transport from the ports or airports can be arranged.
It is a perfectly situated base for touring Brittany with its historic chateaux, customs, Breton cuisine, craftshops, and beautiful coastline where there are many safe coves and beaches. The town of Vannes on the Golf du Morbihan is full of old world charm mixed with sailing and boating for those more energetic and is only 30 to 40 minutes drive away. There are two large lakes, the Lac au Duc, has sailing, windsurfing, water-skiing and canoeing, as well as fishing .There are picnic sites, walking and cycling is popular for those who enjoy the quiet life, with Route Verte, (cycling tracks).
