Tucked away on the slopes of an alpine meadow, the chalet is an idyllic hideaway close to the small village of Livek. Drive or cycle 'the 50 bend road' on the Vrŝiĉ Mountain Pass to Kranjska Gora, or journey to the village of Trenta and discover the source of the famous Soĉa River. For a fascinating day trip, travel south to the Karst region with its caves, wine growing and the world famous Lipizaner stud farm.

The Soĉa valley is one of Slovenija's most beautiful areas. This is where the Julian Alps and Slovenija's highest mountain Triglav dominate the landscape. There is huge scope for all sorts of outdoor activities; the Soĉa is renowned for its white water rafting and the ski centre of Kanin has this year been extended to link up with the lifts on the Italian side of the mountain. The area is also steeped in history, many of the first war trench lines ran through the mountains here. Livek is pretty much equidistant between Ljubljana, Trieste and Venice, all of which have an international airport. From the UK, the cheapest is to use Easyjet or Wizzair to fly to Ljubljana - returns for as little as £50 are available. All major car rental firms are at the airport.
