The farmhouse exterior

This comfortable, rustic farmhouse was built around 1740, eventually having olive groves up to the next village. Nowadays it boasts 50 olive trees in the 4,500 sq mtr garden. As the garden is all around the house it has many optional seating areas.

A large Micocoulier tree offers shade around the alarmed swimming pool, which is filled with water from the well ( the water is then filtered and treated.)

At the back of the house (near to the kitchen) there is a large patio with adjustable sun awning. The patio is furnished with an extendable wooden table and chairs. There is also a garden swing and gas BBQ for your relaxation and enjoyment.

A secure parking area is available for two vehicles.

The property is bordered on the south side by a narrow fresh water canal which supplies the fresh water to the towns and villages in the region.
Inside the house.

The living / dining room has a very large open fireplace, and is well equiped for 8 people.

The sleeping arangements are arranged as follows:

Ground floor: One double bedroom with double sofa bed and own access.

2nd floor. 1 large mezzanine bedroom / office with single bed.

1 large bedroom with 1 double bed and 1 single bed. 1 washbasin.

Inner hall to 2nd large bedroom with king size bed and large modern bathroom with bath ( shower over ) and wash basin.

Seperate w.c.

1 travel cot and small child's bed available.

Linen and bathroom towels are included. ( 1 set per bed per visit .) There is a washing machine provided, or there is a very good launderette close by with service wash / ironing if required.

The beamed rooms and numerous nooks and crannies in the house help to make for a great ambience. The house is cosy and warm in the winter as there is good central heating and an open fire. In the summer the window shutters and 1 meter thick walls help to keep the house cool.

The living rooms are on the 1st floor ( but directly accesible to the garden as the house has 3 floors at the front and 2 floors at the back.)

There is a large living / dining room with ample seating arrangements in both rooms. In the living area there is an open fireplace.

There is a hall to the modern kitchen, which also leads to the garden.

The local area

Location.

A car is essential to travel around the region.

"Le Micocoulier" is the oldest house in the area. The hamlet of Les Jacourets was a family area, but these days it is connected to the village of Peymeinade. There is a narrow fresh water canal running at the edge of the property. If you turn left over the canal bridge you can walk along the path at the side of it to Peymeinade in 20 minutes. Here you will find local shops, retaurants and bars. There is a supermarket on the edge of the village and the local market is on Monday morning.
If you turn right you can walk for 25 minutes to Le Tignet,
where you will find more restaurants and shops and another supermarket.
Locally there is the Peymeinade tennis club with a small club house.
Grasse golf club is 15 minutes by car,up into the mountainside.
Within 10 minutes by car there is a beautiful perched village with breathtaking views from Nice to the St. Casien Lake, which is 20 minutes drive away. At the lake you will find restaurants, good fishing, pedalos, swimming etc.
The beaches, festivals and business conferences of Cannes, Juan les Pins, Antibes and Nice are all between 30/ 45 minutes drive away. Monaco is 1hr, Italy 1 1/2 hrs drive - or take the train from Grasse (free parking!) and see the fantastic sea views.
Go up into the mountains and visit the beautiful provencal villages and sample the fantastic local produce.
From December to March you can ski at Greoliere, which is 45 minutes drive away. Isola 2000 is north of Nice and about 1 1/2 hrs drive.
Come in early spring and you can sometimes ski one day, and picnic on the beach the next day!
In May there is the Cannes film festival followed by Monaco Grande Prix.
