The property is one of the largest on the island and has 8 bedrooms (only 7 of which are in use at the moment - the 8th has been turned into an office where you will be able to access the internet but would need to bring own pc/laptop). The property has all mod cons - ie dishwasher, refrigerators x 3, freezers x 2 plus kitchen area with spacious working area and oven and microwave plus washing machine. The house is on the beach - literally 1 second through the gate to the front leads you on to the beach. there are 2 beach bars on the doorstep cooking fresh fish caught that day - the bars are very quiet and only open during the day. The propertry is vary spacious and only 150 yds to nearest supermarket/bakery selling wide range of products including fresh bread every afternoon which is a must. 10 mins walk to the islands manatou project and 5 mins in car to the fresh water lagoon. Close by and available by car or local taxi (which are very cheap) are water parks, historical sites to visit and 45 mins to Recife which is the main town in the north east which is very chic and has several extremely large shopping malls with cinema complexes included - you could get lost in one of them and have a great day out - they even have games rooms for the children to play and enjoy themselves - our children have a great time in them.
Also on the island there is a fort - fort orange - built by the dutch in the 1600's which is well worth a visit and opposite the fort there is a small island - accessible via local boats which is very idylic and a great place to spend a relaxing day out.
People think of brazil as a violent country but in our experience since being here the people are very friendly and quick to help with any problem you could encounter - we have an employee who cleans the pool and maintains the gardens for us and is always on hand to help out 24 hours a day. The north of brazil is a fascinating place to visit and you would not be disappointed here . |
