The village of Les Houches is a 2 minute drive or 10 minute walk down the hill. It has several shops, 2 supermarkets and lots of bars and restaurants. It has 2 cable cars open in the summer to accesss the mounatains for walking and mountain biking. Also there is a small lake with childrens play area, tennis courts and hipe rope adventure park. There is a small museum in the village too. |
Chamonix valley is spectacular! The home of mountaineering it is accessible to all with extensive lifts, the highest, the Aiguille du Midi reaching a height of 3842m. There are literally hundreds of walks and montain bike routes in the valley and up high. Chamonix town ( 7 mins away ) has many shops, restaurants and bars. It has a lively Saturday market also. A large sports centre boasts swimming pools, ice rink, climbing wall etc. Chamonix also has a fabulous 18 hole golf course with the most amazing views to put you off your golf! Breathtaking views at every turn - its a little corner of paradise. |
