Villa Guzel

Villa Guzel (Turkish for beautiful and pronounced "gewzell") is ideally situated just metres from the beach of beautiful Gundogan Bay and close to all amenities and transport, yet away from hustle and bustle. The flat location makes it an ideal base for families with pushchairs or elderly members, and for those of us who simply prefer an easier stroll home after an evening spent at one of the many excellent restaurants in the bay!
The villa is in a small exclusive development set in private, well maintained gardens and can comfortably accommodate seven adults in three bedrooms, with sofa beds in the living room providing for a further two. The villa is fully airconditioned, and furnished and equipped to a very high standard, using traditional fabrics and locally handmade solid wood furniture. The pool is right in front of the villa and overlooked by the two balconies and the terrace, making it easy to keep an eye on swimmers. Although shared, it is usually very quiet and often unoccupied. (Please note that the minimum depth is 1.4m).

Ground Floor
The open plan living room and kitchen are light and spacious. There is plenty of seating provided by three sofas and two bean bags arranged around an open stone fireplace.A TV with satellite and DVD/CD player provides hundreds of entertainment channels.
The kitchen is equipped with a large fridge/freezer, dishwasher, full size oven, four ring electric hob, microwave, toaster, kettle and filter coffee maker. Good quality china and cutlery for ten full settings are provided, as is a complete range of cooking utensils should you manage to resist the lure of the local restaurants!
French doors open from the kitchen area onto the terrace where the dining table seats eight and can be extended to seat ten. This is the perfect place for breakfast in the morning sun.
Laundry needs are fully catered for by a washing machine, clothes airer, iron and ironing board all located under the stairs in the hall. The hall leads to a twin bedroom and a separate shower room with toilet and hand basin with mirrored vanity unit.

First Floor
A rounded stairwell leads up to the first floor where there are two further bedrooms ,a bathroom and a large terrace.
The spacious master bedroom features an attractive arched ceiling with an inset, circular, stainedglass window. The luxurious bed is larger than kingsize and dressed with Egyptian cotton linen. French doors lead onto a private balcony which offers views of the village and a partial view of the sea and beach.
A further bedroom is equipped with a single bed and a bunk bed.( Please note that the upper bunk is quite high and therefore unsuitable for young children). All three bedrooms are furnished with wardrobes and bedside tables, the master bedroom also having a large mirrored chest of drawers.
The bathroom features a Jacuzzi bath with shower, a toilet and large mirrored vanity unit.
The bamboo-covered upstairs terrace has stylish hardwood furniture with cream cushions and is a great place to sit and relax in the cooling breeze.

Outside
The groundfloor terrace leads down two steps to the poolside area and gardens where four sunloungers are provided. Access to the poolside can be restricted by an iron gate at the top of the steps if necessary.
Gardens are communal but quiet and well planted. The development comprises seven villas and each has an allocated parking space within a few metres (due to be completed summer 2007) and external lighting.

Location

Gundogan
Set in a stunning landscape, Gundogan (meaning sunrise) is a traditional Turkish village covered with flowers all year round and set amongst olive and citrus groves. It is an easy 35 minute drive from Bodrum International Airport, and has become the summer retreat for many professional Turkish people and high level members of the Diplomatic service. The village thus remains very unspoilt and charming. Tourism only plays a small part but English is spoken and visitors are welcomed with great hospitality and friendliness. There are restaurants, cafes, medical and dental centres, shops and internet cafes, all within easy reach of the villa on foot and so stocking up on supplies is easy. A new mini Migros supermarket is 400m away, bakery 200m, small bus station 80m and small general store 50m
The villa is just 80 metres from Gundogan?s clean, sandy beach which is perfect for small children, sunworshippers and watersports enthusiasts alike. Several wooden jetties around the bay are decked by day with sunloungers, beanbags and cushions for total relaxation, and by night with tables and chairs for unforgettable candlelit dining right over the water, or on the beach if you prefer. Sailing, windsurfing, waterskiing and jetskiing are all available in the bay, as are boat trips and day cruises to islands and other beaches. Across the bay is ?Rabbit Island? which has the remains of a 5th-6th century Byzantine church and possibly the best preserved works of art of the early Christian period.
Gundogan has everything you will need for a relaxing and peaceful holiday but it would be a shame to miss out on all that the Bodrum Peninsular has to offer. The coastline is dotted with several beautiful villages all within easy reach using the local dolmus, or minibus service, which is efficient and great value or you may prefer to hire a car.

Yalikavak : 10 mins drive, with beach, marina, shops and good restaurants.

Gumusluk: 15 mins drive, renowned for its excellent fish restaurants and archaeological ruins of a sunken city.

Ortakent: 15 mins drive on the way to Bodrum, waterpark with a large selection of waterslides and pools to suit all ages, including the famous Kamikaze slide which is only for the brave! A great day out for the whole family. Opposite is a Kipa (Tesco) hypermarket.

Bodrum : 20 mins drive, a bustling cosmopolitan resort, Bodrum is built around two bays dominated by the imposing 15th century castle of St. Peter. A playground of the rich and famous, it?s yacht club, marina, designer boutiques and international restaurants mingle with traditional bazaars, cafes and archaeological treasures such as a 3500 year old shipwreck at the Museum of Underwater Archaeology and the remains of the Mausoleum of Harlikarnassos, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Day trips by ferry or hydrofoil to Kos and Rhodes are available from the harbour or if you prefer a shorter boat trip, Black Island just opposite the town offers curative mud spas.
