THe House

Casa Velilla is located just 15 minutes walk from the beach and promenade, on the outskirts of the resort town of Almunecar in Costa Tropical. Close enough to be part of the buzz or far enough to find peace and tranquillity by side of the pool, or on the privacy of your own sunny terrace. The house has easy access to all amenities, including the local shops and market for bargain hunting, and many exceptional and inexpensive restaurants and tapas bars.
Air conditioning is available in July and August, but due to the design of the house is not necessary at other times.

The house is located on the prestigious Citalsol Fuentes de Almunecar with breathtaking views of vast orange orchards to the west, snow-capped mountains to the north and bay of Salobreňa to the east. The house benefits from two shared designer pools. The infinity pool is truly amazing.

With a very spacious lounge (35sq m) and 3 double bedrooms plus two foldaway beds, the house is well suited to families, extended families, couples or groups sharing. The lounge has two patio doors leading out onto a spacious terrace with stunning sea views.
Costa Tropical Granada Region

Costa Tropical is Spain's remaining unspoilt Costa. This is true Spain, the area where the spanish take their holidays. It is the coastline of Granada Province and the scenery is truly inspiring. The area is sub tropical, with its own micro climate. The sun soaked beaches are warmed by southerly winds from North Africa for most of the year and are protected from the cool northerly winds by the rugged Sierra Nevada mountains. The area is rich in history and there is a lot of archaeological evidence of its days under Moorish and Roman rule.

In the winter the area is a favourite of northern europeans, escaping their harsh weather.

A short journey from the resort areas are National Parks, where eagles fly and waterfalls cascade down the mountain sides. The Nerja Caves and the beautiful mountain city of Granada with its magnificent Alhambra Palace are a short bus ride away. Enjoy year round water sports or in the winter and spring try skiing on the slopes of the Sierra Nevada Mountains
Almunecar Area

Almunecar is an authentic and charming spanish town, which becomes a lively resort in summer months. It has a good selection of shops and amenities. Every Friday morning enjoy a stroll around the outdoor market. Textiles, ceramics and leather goods are very good value.

Throughout the warm July evenings enjoy tapas in Majuelo park whilst watching Spains finest guitarists and flamenco dancers giving a free nightly open air concert, against a backdrop of the illuminated San Miguels castle. Majuelo Park contains Europe?s largest selection of outdoor exotic plants. In August Almunecars week long fiesta concludes with a fantastic firework display.

Visit the many tapas bars or the many high quality inexpensive Spanish, Danish, German, Italian, Chinese or Indian restaurants in Almunecar town or along Velilla and San Cristobal beach fronts. Tapas is complimentary when you purchase a drink in the Granada region. You can enjoy a three course meal locally for eight euros. Reserve Crianza Rioja can be bought for as little as 1.5 euros in any of the local supermarkets.

For those who want traditional English breakfast and a good mug of tea, the Ragged Rock at San Cristobal Beach is highly recommended.
