The area around the villa is very private and peaceful, totally safe for children. A driveway from the little-used cul-de-sac leads to a parking area with space for three cars, There is a covered verandah at the fron of the villa. At the back of the villa is an extensive patio surrounding an oval swimming pool of seven by five metres with steps down to the shallow end and a ladder at the deep end. All is set in a large newly-established garden . |
The villa is set amongst olive groves in a picturesque valley, 500 metres from the square in the middle of Agios Ioannis village. The village is a centre for family holidays and since it is exactly in the middle of the island nothing is very far away. At the village square is Kosta's taverna, serving anything from a snack to a delicious full meal at very reasonable prices. Parents sit there chatting, sipping and nibbling while watching their children playing in complete safety and a wonderful mix of languages that they all seem to understand! Other tavernas, restaurants, a bakery, a pharmacy and a minimarket are an easy walk away, supermarkets not much further. Beaches to east and west of the island are no more than five kilometres away. Visit Town to browse around the plethora of shops, explore the narrow streets of the Old Town, climb the massive fortifications, admire the architecture, relax in a park, gaze at the ornate churches, sample the menus of the many restaurants, tavernas and cafes. Corfiots are justifiably proud of their catering. Food is prepared on the premises from organic ingredients; genetically-modifies junk has no place here. There is something for everyone staying at Agios Ioannis. Although the village is a quiet family resort thoe who want to "live it up" will find just what they want within a short drive or bus journey. |
