INSIDE

The villa is entranced from the terrace through large sliding patio doors which lead into the open plan lounge, dining area and kitchen.

The lounge has a comfortable settee and arm chair with reading lamps. There is a TV unit which has a flat screen TV with satellite receiver showing English news, movie, sport and children's channels. We also have a DVD player and Playstation with a few games. Other items include a coffee table and a sideboard containing a CD/Radio/Cassette Player as well as a small selection of books and games. (A large selection of books is available at the reception for free use). You will also find some useful itmes such as electrical adaptors, tourist information etc in the drawers.

The dining area has a good sized table and four chairs though you also have the choice to eat outside on the terrace.

The kitchen has marble worktops and stainless steel appliances which include, electric oven, fan, halogen hob, fridge and microwave. The kitchen is very well equiped and you should find more than enough crockery, cutlery and utensils as well as all the items you would expect to find at home. Small electrical items include a toaster and kettle.

The master bedroom has two single beds which can be put together to make a king sized bed. The beds will already be made upon your arrival. We have put in individual reading lights and bedside lockers. There is a ceiling fan though if too hot you can always use the air conditioning. The window is equiped with insect blinds so that you can also leave the windows open at night time. There is a built in wardrobe providing plenty of storage space and you will also find an iron and ironing board as well as a safe to store you valuables.

The second bedroom has been extended to provide more space though still has a set of bunk beds, each with individual reading lights. There is a small wardrobe and the windows also have insect blinds.

The bathroom is tiled throughout and has a walk in shower which is practical for all especially the less mobile. The wooden vanity unit privides plenty of storage space and come equiped with a hairdryer.

Two air conditioning units have been installed, one in the lounge above the patio doors and the other in the master bedroom.
*Please note that the air conditioning works using a coin meter. To keep our rental costs low we have not included this in our prices as it is not something that all our guests will use and it would be unfair to add the cost of this to the rental charged. When used continuously it will cost around 10Euros per day to use.


OUTSIDE

The terrase is accessed through a wooden gate which can be locked which is ideal for small children. The terrace has been newly tiled and is completely flat, it also offers privacy as it has volcanic stone walls on three sides.

The view from the terrace looks out through the palm trees to the harbour and across the sea to the nearby islands of Los Lobos and Fuerteventura.

The sun shines constantly on the terrase which is great for sun worshipers who can use the two sunloungers though there is a large covered area and an extendable sun blind for those who like the shade.

Also on the terrase you will find a cupboard containing the washing machine and clothes dryer.

There is a built in BBQ and a table and chairs for outside dining.

Casas del Sol was one of the first developments in Playa Blanca and is uniquely located in a prime position right opposite the little harbour and no more than a few minutes stroll to the village centre with its many shops, 3 golden sandy beaches and a good choice of restaurants, bars and nightlife.

It is a highly sort after complex with many guests returning year after year. Due to its central location a car is not necessary.

Casas del Sol has been attractively lanscaped with mature gardens home to a variety of palm trees and other colourful tropical plants. All the villas are accessed by footpaths so there is no through vehicular traffic resulting in safe, peaceful and tranquil surroundings.

Casas del Sol has a large heated salt water pool with the shallow end gently sloping to a depth of around 180cm (6ft). There are plenty of sunloungers and parasols spread around the tiled pool terrace which is a popular place to meet new friends. There is also paddling pool for children and two tennis courts.

The reception building is manned by friendly English speaking locals who are able to help you incase of any problems. They are also offer helpful advice and reccommendations on places of interest, restaurants etc and can organise excursions, taxis, bicycle hire etc. The reception building also has a small shop selling the basics, an internet room and a large lounge with a good choice of books to borrow.

Playa Blanca is located at the southern-most tip of Lanzarote and is fast becoming one of the island's finest tourist areas. Almost always basked in warm sunshine and with the sea a constant calm, clear blue, Playa Blanca is a holidaymaker's paradise. There are superb views of the mountains and the islands of Lobos and Fuerteventura across the water. It is also home to the Canary Islands best beaches at Papagayo. If it's lazy days in the sun you are looking for, this is the ideal place.

Over the past few years Playa Blanca, originally a small fishing village has been transformed into one of the islands main tourist areas. Thankfully, been subject to strict planning regulations, it has kept it's small village feel and has been protected from huge tall buildings and mass, uncontrolled development as seen in other Spanish resorts.

Quieter than the other main resorts, Playa Blanca is fantastic for couples and families who want to spend the day around their pool or at the beach and their nights enjoying fine food at one of many international restaurants.

You will find friendly, welcoming people, a great choice of shops and restaurants as well as a pleasant laid back atmosphere in wonderful surroundings.

BEACHES

Playa Blanca's beaches are small but perfectly formed and benefit from excellent nearby amenities such as the shops, bars and restaurants. Three beaches are within a few minutes walk from our villa, Playa Blanca, Playa Flamingo and Playa Dorada. The latter is where you will find an array of watersports on offer.

Papagayo beaches are world famous and are only a 10 minute drive or taxi ride away. This is a national park made up of several beautiful beaches sand coves where you can always find a private spot. The water is crystal clear and offers excellent bathing.

Around the island there are many excellent beaches though the ones at Playa Blanca are undoubtedly the best.

SPORTING ACTIVITIES

Bicycle Hire - Available at reception. Cycling is a popular activity in Lanzarote. The rugged terrain and near perfect climate makes it a perfect environment for mountain biking. You will regularly see men and women training for the international Ironman triathlon competition here, as the hills make it a tough challenge for any would-be competition cyclist. Cycling tours are available with various companies who hire cycles of all types.

Trekking & Walking - Few holidaymakers realise that Lanzarote has more to offer than just beaches and sunshine. The extraordinary landscape and rugged terrain make it a fascinating place for trekking.

Golf - Club de Golf Costa Teguise, 18 hole course open all year. Trolleys, electric buggies and clubs available for hire. You will also find mini-golf centres in all resorts one island.

Tennis - There are two courts at Casas Del Sol and equipment hire is possible. In addition there are many tennis schools where you can book lessons to learn how to play or simply to improve your game.

Swimming - In addition to the swimming pools at Casas Del Sol the various local golden sandy beaches are all ideal for safe bathing. At Costa Teguise there is waterpark with plenty of slides and pools.

Walking - Lanzarote has more to offer than just beaches and sunshine with many marked paths enabling you to explore Lanzarotes volcanic landscape. There is a 7km pedestrian promenade along the coast just across the road from Casas Del Sol.

Horse Riding - Centres are available that offer lessons for beginners, short trips for novice riders and longer trips for the more accomplished.

Watersports ? These are numerous and include submarine trips, deep sea fishing, sailing (personal hire or with skipper), boat trips, snokelling, windsurfing, jet ski, water skiing and parasailing.

Surfing - Lanzarote regularly holds top international surfing competitions at Famara beach on the west coast. This sport has recently become very popular and there are now several schools offering board hire and lessons for all ages and abilities.

Scuba Diving - There are several underwater diving centres in Playa Blanca which offer courses and trips for all levels as well as gear hire for licensed divers. The waters around Lanzarote offer fantastic visibility and a large and colourful variety of marine life.

Kite Surfing - This is a spectacular sport that has recently become both popular and fashionable on the beaches of Lanzarote.

Hang Gliding - Lanzarote is the ideal winter hang gliding break.


SHOPPING

Lanzarote is a duty free island and many bargains are to be had especially with small electrical items and perfumes. The shops are open late into the evenings so there is always plenty of time to shop. The main pedestrianised shopping area of Playa Blanca
is only a few minutes walk from the villa.

For more bargains and crafts try the many local markets such as Playa Blanca on Wednesday and Saturday mornings. The market at Teguise is the biggets on the island and is held every Sunday.


WINE TASTING

La Geria, the island's famous wine-growing region produces more than two million litres of wine every year, the wine industry of Lanzarote is thriving and growing all the time.


RESTAURANTS

There is an abundance of restaurants within walking distance of the villa catering for every budget, taste and age. If you did not want to dine out or cook yourself then many offer take-away services and you will find several menus in the villa.

A nice place to eat is on the beach front of Playa Blanca. Here you will find every sort of restaurant offering good food and reasonable prices.


NIGHTLIFE

The nightlife in Playa Blanca is fairly sedate and most people seem quite happy to stroll along the promenade eventually sitting down to have a quiet drink at one of the many bars along the way watching everbody else go about their business.

The main nightlife centres around sevaral bars that offer live music and televised sporting events. For those who like to sing then Legends karaoke bar is a big favourite.


CHILDREN

Playa Blanca and our villa is an excellent choice for an enjoyable family holiday. The fact that you do not have to put the kids in the car everytime you want to go somewhere is big bonus.

At Casas Del Sol itself the children will love the pool and paddling pool and can also play tennis or football on
