Welcome to our family home, our spacious modern townhouse has quality furniture,fittings and is very well equipped for all your needs. It is ideally placed for Pafos "old town" and the harbour and beaches- only 5mins by car or a pleasent 20 mins walk. All the houses on this small, quiet complex are privately owned,(the majority are U.K. owners) and we share a central & attractive large pool and garden area. Close by are the Pafos mosaics, light house and amphitheatre where plays are staged during the summer, and the old fort at the harbour is the backdrop of summer concerts and opera productions. Nearby (behind Debenhams, at the harbour) is the ancient site of St Pauls pillar and catacombes. Less than 10 mins drive will bring you to the Tombs of the kings ancient burial site and the stunning coastal veiws out at Coral Bay resort, the "animal and bird" park and the lovely Agious Georgius, a tiny fishing harbour- the start of the Akamas Peninsula. Pafos has a HUGE varity of cafes, bars, restaurants and shops. English is spoken everywhere and you can find branches of popular UK stores in Pafos "old town" and Kato Pafos(lower Pafos) e.g. M&S, Debenhams, Mango, Next, Body shop etc. Just five minutes away from the house are supermarkets,fresh fruit & veg market, pharmacy and a smart modern hospital the "Iasis" which has A&E facilties. In less than an hours drive you can enjoy the breathtaking scenery and cool fresh air of the Troodos mountains, visting Cypriot villiages and monasteries on the way. In winter you can ski - yes Cyprus gets snow on the mountains. In less than two hours you can be in Nicosia, the capital city, with fantastic cosmopolitain shops and atmosphere. Try the restaurant at M&S, the food is excellent, plentiful and inexpensive! Visit the many museums and walk throuh the old town. You can make visits to northern Cyprus if you wish-dont forget to take your passport. Pafos is the ideal starting point to explore the island as motorway make much of it accessable. Enjoy a visit to Polis and Latsi (less than 45 mins drive) the stunning Aphrodites Rock, Pissouri Bay and Kourion amphitheatre. Take a cruise from Limassol to Egypt or the Greek Islands. |
When they get fed up of looking at a pile of old stones take them go karting, paint balling, to the water park, aquarium, bird park and scuba diving. There are two cinemas which show English/Us films and a theatre in Pafos town. Beaches and rock pools are plentiful with "safe" sea bathing and a huge variety of water sports. Try a relaxing boat trip around the island. For lazy days, the pool is ideal, kids can play all day while you sunbathe on the loungers which are provided for you to enjoy. Even the ice cream man calls every day. The local shop is only a few minutes walk away for all your basic supplies including British newspapers, magazines, books and toys. Next door is a small lively taverna and a take out, serving British and Cypriot food at reasonable prices. Eat in, or out under the stars. For those who enjoy night life theres plenty to be had. Bars nightclubs and eateries are only ten minutes walk away on the aptly named Bar street. Ther are many excursions island wide available by coach, funbus and jeep. All reasonably priced. Local buses run frequent services between Kato Pafos, Pafos town, Coral bay and Agious Georgious and to surrounding villages. Hiring a car would help you explore more of the island but not absolutely necessary as the bus and taxi fares are inexpensive. Pafos is an ideal year round resort with lovely sunny days (ideal walking & exploring weather) during the winter months when temperatures at the coast rarely drop below 11c at night time and with daytime temperatures reaching a very pleasant 18/20c and upwards. An ideal getaway from the cold & wetness of the U.K.
