Our new spacious apartment is situated less than 10 minutes walk to the main beach (1st beach),2 minutes to a local supermarket and restaurant,yet in a quiet partly residential area.

The property is in a block of 6 apartments with a shared pool,our apartment is on the 2nd and top floors of the building,it can sleep 8 adults in comfort (without using the bed settee in the living area).

Inside the apartment on the 2nd floor are 2 twin bedrooms,1 bathroom with shower,fully equipped kitchen and living area with comfortable settees/chair and dining table and chairs,TV,DVD,CD,there is a balcony off the living area to the front with patio table and chairs,overlooking the pool (glimpse of sea),one of the twin bedrrooms has a balcony to the rear/side of the property.
Private marble stairs lead to the top floor which has a bedroom with full size bunk beds,a large master bedroom with a double bed,leading onto a large private roof terrace,with a sea view (over roof tops),a built in BBQ,and large patio table and chairs,there is also a bathroom with corner jacuzzi bath and another large roof terrace to the rear with a distant view of the ancient Apollo Temple.

All the bedrooms have wardrobes and plenty of storage space

The apartment is bright and very airy,but there is Air conditioning in the living area,and 3 large portable pedastel fans in the bedrooms (which we find adequate,even in July).

Altinkum has something for everyone,3 lovely(gently shelving) sandy beaches,plenty of restaurants with cuisine to suit everyones palate,more traditional/local restaurants just off the main promanade,all at great prices.

Restaurants will pick you up and drop you off at the apartment for free,as will the 2 restaurants at 3rd beach who will pick you up and take you to the beach for free (5 minutes minibus ride away).For a quiet night get them to pick you up on an evening and have a lovely meal overlooking the beach and the aegean sea (heaven!!)

There is no need to hire a car (although car hire is available in the resort) as everything is easily accessable by foot,Dolmus or Taxi and there are various travel agents in Altinkum that do trips further afield.


There is a water park only 15 minutes away (free minibus).The ancient Temple of Apollo is 10 minutes by Dolmus (local bus) with a couple of restaurants that overlook the floodlit ruins on an evening (impressive!).The original town of Yenishar where there is a local market and plenty of cheap restaurants/cafes where the locals eat is also 10 minutes away by Dolmus

Various boat trips operate from the harbour area,and also ferries operate from here to some greek Islands(from summer 2007).

A 30 minute drive,by car,is the beautiful Bafa Lake,further afield is Ephesus (ancient roman city) and the famous Sulpher terraces at Pamukkale.

Private transfers can be arranged from Bodrum or Izmir Airports (from £30 one way for 4 people,payable locally).

The apartment beneath ours may also be available for the larger party.
