The Chalet, International Chalet Chevenoz |
| |
The ground and first floors of the Chalet covers 265 sq m of public area and bedrooms and the Chalet sleeps 12-15-20 people, and the dining room sits 24-28.
The main entrance is on the front of the chalet but many people use the shared barn/garage entrance into the first floor of the Chalet. This barn/garage is a useful place where you can leave things you do not want to take into the Chalet and where you can use some space to store /dry skis etc.
The ground floor is some 145 sq m and you can see the layout in the photo-plan.
The Lounge is in two open plan sections and is 35 sq m and features an Open Fire which heats most of the chalet. The other main public room is a 38 sq m 24-28 person dining room with one 7 meter table and matching chairs.
The Open Fire in the lounge heats most of the chalet via pulsed air which heats the dining room and the Master bedroom on the ground floor and the three bathrooms/WC plus a drying cupboard for you to hang your ski clothes overnight.
I am afraid the wine cellar will be locked but you will have full access to the cold store, central Hall, well equipped modern kitchen, Master bedroom and en suite Bathroom. The Master bedroom has an office area for the ?Busy Executive? who wants to keep on top of his/her job. You should be able to connect a Laptop here if you are using a French Toll Free Number, though the ?Busy Executive? will no doubt have GSM connectivity anyway.
The first floor is the main bedroom area and is on the same level as the barn/garage. It contains 5 of the 6 separate bedrooms, a bathroom/WC with Jacuzzi bath and a shower/WC.
You can comfortably sleep 12 (2 per room, 4 with double beds), or 15 by putting a third person in 3 of the bedrooms or 20 by sleeping people |
The Dining room & Kitchen |
| |
The Dining room is a special feature of this Chalet -
The dining room is equipped with a 7m long Oak Dining Table with 22 oak chairs & 2 matching ?carvers? at each end; there are 4 additional chairs in other rooms if you want to invite friends and seat 28 at the Table.
Down the centre of this table is a separate Oak Tray which has been designed so that you may use various electrical cooking appliances without having cables running everywhere EG you may toast you bread in the morning by simply plugging into one of the many built in power sockets.
The Dining room is equipped with 6 combined cook at the table units ? these are ?Pierrades? or ?individual Raclettes?; these include individual small frying pans & Wooden spatulas to ease the food off the frying pans. It also has a Traditional Raclette Cooker which is designed to take a complete half Raclette cheese, when the cheese is suitably melted you take turns to scrape off the melted cheese with the wooden spatula onto your plate of boiled potatoes, hams, gherkins, silverskin onions etc ? you will find a recipe in the local supermarket or cheese shop.
To keep your prepared food hot there are 2 ?Hostess Hot Trays? which may be used on top of the Cupboards or on the Table itself.
In the Kitchen are several Fondue sets and here are also 2 Desert Fondues in the dining room for hot chocolate dips, perfect with Marsh Mallows.
Last but not least over the old Hay rack you will see a traditional English Crystal Yard of Ale. We would prefer you not to use this but if you do please handle it with care and clean it well the next day when you are completely sober, NB Breaking this would be expensive - at least 100?
