I bought a property in this area because the views are breathtaking of the mountain behind the property but particular of the ocean in front. All you hear in the evening is the sound of the waves. Particularly in the evening it is very quiet but during the day there is the bustle of activity. The people in the area are all friendly and open and kind and helpful. The property is situated centrally for all sightseeing in the Cape Town area. There are some great restaurants within walking distance of the property for those who want to take a drink and don't need to drive back, our wines are really good as you know. The property is very spacious, when people arrive they often say, why this is larger than how we live at home and the private garden and pool is a real plus, for couples, friends staying or for families with children. There is a full time maid for all cleaning, washing up, washing and ironing she will also do for an extra tip so it is like being at a hotel. There is a supermarket just down the road within walking distance for all provisions. There is surfing in front of the doorstep literally, 5 minutes away and one can do the most wonderful walks on the beach. The food in the restaurants is of such a high standard that most of my guests come to eat and drink most of the time, obviously there are great golf courses in the vicinity too, at least 3 really good ones within minutes drive. The immediate locality is a seaside town which is lovely and relaxing. A car is certainly advisable for getting around as the public transport in South Africa is not to be recommended and is few and far between anyway. All my visitors rent a car and a few take a driver. You can do all sightseeing from here, the bars and shops are within a 5 - 10 minute walk and of course if you have a car then you can drive to them all, I can recommend the best restaurant as I know them all and the guests like to be guided to what is good. |
