Meenan's Cottage is situated in a beautiful part of South West Donegal, along the Glen road to Carrick, in the shadow of Slieve League. This original thatched cottage is over one hundred years old and spans four generations of the Meenan family.
Preserving the cottage's original character while providing for more of today's creature comforts, it offers a unique holiday experience in one of Irelands most dramatic scenic regions.

The cottage has a living room area with open turf fire, a dining table and chairs, two armchairs and a small television. The pantry/kitchenette is connected to the living area and leads to the bathroom which includes a wc, sink and bath with electric shower unit. The main bedroom has a double bed, while the twin room has two single beds. Both bedrooms have a sink and storage space.
A wooden park bench with seating is located at the side of the cottage in a sheltered alcove. A barbecue is also set up in this area. The cottage is part of a working farm with animals often grazing in the fields below and above the cottage. The cottage looks down towards a winding river with good fishing (fishing permits are available locally).

This area of South West Donegal enjoys a great reputation for hospitality. It is part of the Donegal Gaeltacht and is steeped in the art of traditional music. The area also plays host to a variety of cultural courses. Other activities available locally include hill walking, boat trips and golf.
In the nearby villages of Carrick, Glencolmcille and Teelin a selection of shops, pubs and restaurants allow you the opportunity to sample life amongst the friendly locals.
The area abounds with stunning scenery, from the cliffs at Slieve League to the valley of Glencolmcille and the Silver Strand beach in Malinbeg. Travelling further afield a guest can explore all that County Donegal has to offer.
