Explore picturesque Greens Beach, West Head & Badger Head which are all part of the Asbestos Range National Park (now called Narantawpu National Park)
Cradle Mountain and wilderness walks are a comfortable return day trip from Greens Beach, as are the spectacular beaches at Freycinet and Wineglass Bay (although all worth an overnight er to see more!). Trout fishing lakes are within easy reach and there is a choice of numerous golf courses, , one of which is literally two to three minutes walk. A well respoected 9 hole beachside course respected for its beauty and challenge. The new 5 million dollar Barnbougle links course is an easy drive.
The renowned Tamar Island Wetland Walk is only on the way to Greens Beach. Here you can explore an extensive boardwalk through reeds, marshland and mudflats and observe birds in their natural habitat. The walk, which ends at Tamar Island, takes 1 - 2 hours and is a must for nature lovers.
Go to Brady's Lookout for a fabulous view down the river, almost to the coast Enjoy a scenic drive to Notley Fern Gorge in Bridgenorth on your way to the spectacular Great Western Tiers.
Visit the Grubb Shaft Gold Mining Museum at Beaconsfield
Spend some time at the Maritime Museum and Lighthouse at Low Head. See the Fairy Penguins (at dusk) & the Pilots Station. On the way, drive down river towards the coast via Gravelly Beach, Paper Beach & Deviot (see craft, pottery & art galleries in Tamar Valley Gallery area).
Experience the Pipers River Vineyards: Pipers Brook, The Jansz, Dalrymple, Heemskerk, Rochecombe etc.
And the West Tamar River Vineyards: St Matthias, Rosevears. Strathlynn, Marions and Holm Oak
Visit the renowned Bridestowe Lavender Farm at Nabowla. Open all year, the Lavenders are in flower December to January
Enjoy the Walker Rhododendron Garden at Lalla (Lilydale) as well as the Lalla Pear Walk. On the way, visit Hollybank Forest Reserve,

Visit Clarendon House at Nile, Entally House at Hadspen and Franklin House in outer Launceston. On the way, pass by the National Automobile Museum, Waverley Woollen Mills and historic Evandale
